The Journey of New Life and Confusion

I dreamt of being present in the hospital for my sister in law’s delivery. She shouted and differed in labour before being taken in for delivery C section. A girl baby was born for her. I start playing with the baby for a second after the baby is brought out and then she is taken away from me by her family. I have plan to come back to my home and I feel small pain in my tummy. As I touch and feel it, I feel that it’s bloated. As I recollect, I’ve digestion issues and gas trouble. So I think probably that’s the reason I felt gassy. But soon I walk into the labour room nearby and feel that my vagina was dilating. I realised that my big tummy was not just because it was gassy. Without much pain, by God’s grace, I deliver a baby. But before even I could see the baby’s face, baby is taken away from me. I’m begging to see the baby’s face. My mom tells me it’s time for me to return to my home and I return. After coming back, I still complain about having pains and visit a doctor. Then I doubt and realise that placenta wasn’t removed. I complain immediately that it has to be removed and in the meantime cry and sob to see my baby. But no one reassures me. And since we barely recollect that we were in that relationship, hubby gave a non believable look as if the baby was really his or not- this happened back in the delivery room!! Now I was in the hospital and yes, I had come by train here. I begged to see the baby but no one responded. I pleaded them to show my baby’s face and let me know the gender of the baby and they told it was a boy after sometime. I was little relieved hearing it but still craved to see my baby. My mom had taken my baby and come by train. She came and gave the baby to me. I immediately asked if that’s my baby or my sister in law’s. She told it was mine and that it was a boy and gave the baby to me. Baby was very small and fair when it was on her arms when I reached out to take the baby, baby was way too long and had very dark skin with triangle face and super curly dense hair. I don’t remember much after that. Yes, also I calculate and find that my boy is born two days after that girl is born. I don’t remember much. I woke up. What’s the meaning?

Dreams about childbirth can be rich with symbolism and often reflect personal feelings, experiences, and transformations in one's life. In your dream, several key elements stand out that provide insight into its meaning.

Childbirth and New Beginnings

The entire setting revolves around childbirth, which typically symbolizes the beginning of something new: it could relate to creative pursuits, new relationships, emotional transformations, or personal growth. Your presence in the delivery room signifies a deep connection to this process, indicating that you may be on the verge of a new developmental stage in your life or undergoing some personal change that you might be excited yet anxious about.

Emotions of Joy and Separation

The initial joy you feel when playing with your sister-in-law's baby reflects feelings of happiness and potential for new experiences. However, the subsequent separation when the baby is taken away may suggest feelings of loss or a fear of losing connection with something you hold dear. This could symbolize your anxieties regarding potential changes in relationships, especially family dynamics or concerns about how changes may affect your existing role within the family.

The Bodily Sensations

The pain and bloating in your tummy can symbolize emotional distress as well. You recognize that you might be experiencing physical discomfort, which could represent deeper emotional challenges or unresolved issues in your life weighing you down. The feeling of a bloated abdomen also connects with feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or anxieties, which in dreams may materialize as physical sensations.

The Experience of Labour

As you find yourself dilating and eventually delivering a baby, this mirrors the transition to a new phase. The delivery without much pain could signify an acceptance of the changes that are happening and your ability to adapt to new circumstances smoothly. However, the disappointment of not seeing your baby and begging to know its face could reflect your concerns about recognizing the impact of these changes in your life, suggesting a need for affirmation or reassurance about your journey.

Relationships and Doubts

Your interactions with your mother and husband indicate potential uncertainties in your personal life. The look your husband gives you may suggest insecurities about shared hopes and expectations, especially if there are changes in your family dynamics or personal roles. This aspect of your dream may reflect your worries about the stability of relationships, how you are perceived, or how changes might affect interactions with loved ones.

The Contrast of Babies

The difference in appearance between the baby you expected and the one you were given may symbolize the unexpected nature of new beginnings or experiences. It suggests that while you may have specific expectations about what new changes will bring, the reality may end up being something you did not anticipate – highlighting the discrepancies between expectations and reality.

Conclusion

In summary, your dream weaves together themes of new beginnings, anxieties, and relation dynamics. It may be urging you to confront any unresolved feelings you have regarding change or transformation in your life. Reflect on the feelings of joy and anxiety that the dream evokes, and consider how they relate to your current life situation. This could be an opportunity to gain clarity on your emotions and perhaps prepare for the transitions that lie ahead.
